Rahul Gandhi Kicks Off Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra From Manipur

'Will bring back harmony, peace': Rahul Gandhi kicks off 'Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra' from Manipur- On Sunday, January 14, 2024, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi kicked off the party's mass outreach programme, Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, from Manipur's Thoubal district. The yatra aims to cover a distance of over 6,700 kilometres across 15 states from Manipur to Mumbai ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Gandhi was joined by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and other party leaders for the flag-off ceremony. In his speech, Gandhi condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for the recent ethnic clashes in Manipur that claimed the lives of over 50 people.

"The BJP has spread hatred and division in this country," Gandhi said. "They have destroyed the harmony and peace that has always existed in Manipur. We will not allow them to divide this country."

Gandhi also promised that the Congress party would work to bring back the "harmony, peace, and affection" that Manipur is known for.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is being seen as a major attempt by the Congress party to revive its fortunes ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The party has been out of power at the Centre for over eight years, and it is hoping to capitalize on the growing dissatisfaction with the BJP government.

The yatra will cover a wide range of issues, including economic inequality, social justice, and national unity. Gandhi and other Congress leaders will be holding rallies and public meetings along the route to meet with voters and discuss these issues.

The yatra is expected to be a major test for Gandhi's leadership. He will need to connect with voters and convince them that the Congress party is the best choice to lead India.
